Recently the audit report of 2013 was revealed where tech giant Apple who has been working with their supplier Quanta to improve the work environment where it was informed that there was huge breach of violations including excess overtime along with health issues of the employees.
According to the reports it showed the two working conditions of the Chinese factories back in August last year.
The assessment was made by the Independent labor monitoring organization called Open View Service where they focused the conditions of the two factories in Shanghai and Changshu where they get the official approval from the Fair Labor Association where most of the corporate members of Apple and Nike are involved.
And after receiving the report the tech giant Apple informed by the statement, Excessive overtime is not in anyone s best interest, and we will continue to work closely with Quanta and our other suppliers to prevent it. This year, through the end of July, Quanta has averaged 86 percent compliance with our 60-hour workweek.
Earlier in 2010 followed by the suicide of a worker along with some inequitable labor conditions made the news where Apple and their major assembler Foxxconn faced tough questions after the incident happened.
However Apple ultimately joined the Fair Labor Association in 2012 and becoming the first tech firm to speak about the issues to improve the situations with their suppliers.
