ADHD is a  neurodevelopmental disorder, which affects mostly children and teens .  Those  who have ADHD symptoms may have  trouble in controlling their behavior, impulsive behavior with over activity, being unable to sit or wait for their turn.  They act without thinking and interrupt conversations.  ADHD rates have been increasing among the American teens, over the past two decades the ADHD had steep increase from 6% to 10%, according to a recent study.  Doctors rely on their medical examination, parental or teachers reports, but no other tests were available to diagnose the disease.

Dr. Andrew Adesman, chief of developmental & behavioral pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center, New York states that the study has confirmed that the youngest children within a grade are more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than are the other oldest children in that same grade.

Adesman, said this study suggests that parents of kids who are young for their grade who have ADHD symptoms wanted to repeat a grade, as it will give a child time to maturity and a better behavior in future. The findings were published Nov. 28 in the New England Journal of Medicine.  Various other issues such as overcrowding, family problem, friendship problem, grasping power may also influence ADHD.
