Study Reveals Chemical in Cosmetics Affects the Onset of Puberty

Researchers had found that chemicals in shampoo, perfumes, soaps, face washes, deodorants, facial creams cause early puberty in girls.  The published study in the Human Reproduction journal includes chemical phthalates, parabens, and phenol.   

Some types of phthalates are used in some products including perfume, facial creams, deodorants, soaps, shampoo, nail polish, and many other cosmetics to add good smell to the products. Parabens are used as preservatives that increase the stability of the product for a longer time.  Phenols are used in toothpaste, hair sprays, soap, shampoos, and lipsticks. They found that early onset of puberty occurs because of this chemical cosmetic affects girls and boys are not affected.  

According to Dr. Kim Harley, associate professor in public health at the University of California, the usage of the two chemicals namely diethyl phthalate (used for fragrance) and triclosan (antibacterial agent in toothpaste and soaps) in pregnancy were responsible for their daughters who entered puberty earlier.  They also found a high level of parabens in the age of nine entered puberty quicker. Dr. Harley said that early onset of puberty has dangerous side effects for girls in their later life. 

Researchers from the University of California states that chemical in cosmetics influences the hormone signals and affects their growth. Dr. Ali Abbara, senior lecturer in endocrinology at Imperial College, London that it results in obesity in Children.

Using natural ingredients and herbal beautification for the young girls will keep their hormones in balance and keep them healthy.  Bengal gram flour, wheat flour, green gram flour, honey, turmeric, milk, curd, coconut oil, olive oil, vitamin E oil, almond oil are some natural ingredients useful for beautification.
