Trial of a man charged with Killing a Teenager in a Botched Kidnapping Death begins

The trial of a man accused of killing a teenager in a botched kidnapping death has begun on Monday. Police said that the suspect Kyle Dube was using a fake Facebook ID and had lured the 15-years old girl to her death. It was said, Dube tried to make it look like that he was rescuing the girl from kidnapping.

According to the State Medical Examiner, “15-year-old girl allegedly lured to her death by 20-year-old Kyle Dube using a phony Facebook profile died from asphyxiation”. It was also reported that the trial of Dube is expected to last two weeks. It was also reported, the judge had already barred Dube`s attorney to name the ex-girlfriend of Dube as the alternate suspect in the killing of the 15-years old victim Nicole Cable.

According to police statement, Dube set up a fake Facebook ID to arrange a meeting with the teenager in May, 2013. Police said, he wanted to make it look like he had solved the kidnapping himself when he killed her. But Dube`s attorney wanted to name his ex-girlfriend as an alternate suspect. According to the defense attorney the ex-girlfriend thought Dube and Cable were seeing each other. But it was barred by Superior Court Justice Ann Murray.

In her order Murray said that Dube, “Set forth a tenuous suggestion of motive” in his call for alternative suspect. She also said that, the defense also failed to establish any connection between the girl and the crime. It was also reported that the ex-girlfriend was near Cable`s home when the incident took place. Murray wrote, “This trial must be the trial of Kyle Dube”. When contacted defense attorney and prosecutors had declined to comment before Mondays opening statement. Cables parents also declined to comment before the beginning of the trial.

Police has also confirmed that the fake Facebook ID was under a name of another person but was traced back to Dube`s home. It was also confirmed by police that the person had no involvement in the kidnapping.
