Google Contacts Dark Theme Mode has Finally Arrived - Here's How You Can Turn it On

Last week, Google encouraged the apps to adopt a dark theme so that its users can save their phone's battery life. Google Contacts is the latest Android app to use one, followed by dozens of apps including Google News and Messages.

Android 9 Pie users can start using this feature by the following simple steps:

  1. Make sure the Google Contacts 3.2 is installed/updated on your phone
  2. Open the Hamburger menu (The 3 lines) on the top-left
  3. Find and tap on the option "Turn dark theme on"

Note: This feature is available for most of the users, and in case you can't see the option, don't panic, and wait until it rolls out in your phone too. If you are too excited, you can install it directly using the APK file from APKMirror and force stop the application (from phone settings) after installing.

By using this feature, your battery life can be effectively saved, according to Google.
