Oreo Update For Moto G5S Plus And Moto X4 In India

A few weeks ago, Motorola Moto X4 that had Android One version was upgraded to Android 8.1. Now, the unlocked Amazon Prime versions of Moto X4 that had  Android 8.0 OS are getting the new version OPW28.2  that features Android 8.1 Oreo as an important highlight and improvements on the user interface (UI and API) are also made.  Notably, Android security patches for May 2018 are also unveiled. 

In addition to this, Android 8.1 Oreo update will be available for Motorola's Moto G5 Plus launched in February 2017. The company has been facing some update related issues and the news will be arriving after a long wait. Moto G5 Plus was originally launched with Android 7.0 Noughat version and the recent update will be skipping Android 8.0 Oreo

Currently, the soak test is done in Brazil in view of Oreo update and build number is OPP28.60. Soak tests are usually done to verify the performance of a system over an extended period of time. Soon, the oreo update is expected in European countries and the massive Indian market. However, no official announcement has been made yet from the company side.

Oreo update is usually intimated automatically if not, Moto users shall go to System updates under Settings menu for manual update.

Before Updating

About 1.2 GB of storage space is required and the users have to ensure the same. The update requires at least 50% of battery power and make sure that it does not turn off. Then, Moto users can connect to long-standing Wi-Fi in order to avoid wastage of mobile data and since it takes more time for the update, users have to plan accordingly.
