Japan Heavy Rains Flooding And Landslides Pictures in July 2018

Torrential rains caused heavy damages like flooding and landslides in Western and Central Japan accounting for nearly 90 deaths and over 50 went missing. More than 20,000 residents have been staying in evacuation centres as on late Sunday. As a whole, about 4 million people from several rain-hit prefectures have been evacuated and moved to safer regions based on the Government's order.

Photos and videos of people who got stranded in their homes, hospitals and other buildings can be viewed on social media. Many people were on the roofs of the buildings got affected by floods in Okayama Prefecture where more than 500 homes were flooded. Flooding areas are unapproachable now due to submerged roads and bridges. Rescue operations are in full swing to retrieve the trapped ones and also a separate team for the search of missing people.

Mabicho district was most affected as about Emergency warning for Kochi, Ehime and Gifu prefectures is on and the areas are under alert. A bird's view of the Hiroshima Prefecture could reveal the multiple landslides and muddy roads. The disaster reminded of the landslides occurred in 2014 in Hiroshima Prefecture where around 75 people were killed due to landslides.
