Researchers took a survey of parents and caretakers inUnited States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canadian New Zealand and concluded that the use of crib for kids under the age of 3 had fewer night awakenings have longer sleeps for both infants and the parents,  according to the study authors report in the journal Sleep Medicine. 

The infant bed have a broader base of support and can hold even a large baby comfortably than a bassinet. The size of the crib is comfortable than the bassinet. A bassinet is used in small houses as they occupy less space. Moreover, they result in less center of gravity (which means that the entire weight of a body supported would remain in equilibrium in any position) which aids in good sleep.

Safe Cribs are needed for the toddlers to prevent injurious fall. The study says that placing a child into an infant bed can put strain to the infants skin at the back( as they sleep putting their whole body weight to bed for long hours )as well as the caretakers’ back( as they have to lift a weight to about 12 kilograms to 18kilogram at 3 years of age. 

San Francisco, CA –According to the American Academy ofPediatrics report, breastfeeding up to six months to induce the infant's immunity power and the possibility of becoming infectious due to the other feeding methods. Infants should sleep in the same bedroom as their parents, but on a separate surface, such as a crib or bassinet, and never on a couch, armchair or soft surface so as to decrease the risks of sleep-related deaths.  Other AAP recommendations on creating a safe sleep environment include that the crib should be empty without pillows or soft toys.  Room-sharing decreases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome or crib death because the infants often die in their cribs. Avoid infants exposure to smoking, alcohol or illicit drug environment.

As per the research was done in the last ten years and according to the lead study author Ariel Williamson of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, Healthy Sleep, especially during childhood, plays a vital role in human lifespan or longevity of the individual.  Williamson and colleagues have found that toddlers deprived of sleep tend to have a more difficult time with tasks, temper tantrums and self-regulating behaviors.
