Okra, Sweet Potato, Carrots Helps Pregnant Women for a Healthy Child

Okra and Sweet Potato with a little intake of dark-colored Carrots are a boon to a pregnant woman for brain and spinal cord development also helps to Lower Blood Sugar Level in the two types of diabetes and Cholesterol Level and belly fat. The name Okra is used in almost all English Speaking countries. The biological name for Okra, Abelmoschus esculentus, has a high nutritive value.

When okra is cooked it produces a sticky or mucilaginous substance which contains soluble fibers, required for maintaining a good health. Drinking “okra water” is a trendy method of using okra. This gives excellent results for the relief of diabetes symptoms.

The drink is made by immersing okra slices in water and soaking them overnight. Okra is a rich source of folate and folic acid.  It helps to prevent the risk of birth defect in newborn.  It is highly recommended starting from the 4th week of pregnancy as it helps in neural tube development The neural tube is the embryonic structure that gradually develops into the brain, spinal cord, nerves and ganglia in the brain. Calcium and phosphorous helps in good bone formation.  They also help the pregnant woman to prevent constipation.  It helps in type 1 and type 2, and gestational diabetes that develops during pregnancy and vanishes after pregnancy.  In Africa, safe delivery is ensured with the use of Okra.

Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of beta-carotene, good for eyes.  Sweet Potato contains a high content of soluble fiber reduces blood sugar spikes(sugar level after eating) aids in digestion.  First few months needs this vitamin A rich food in addition to fresh slices of dark-colored carrot rich in Vitamin A and beta-carotene.  Later months of pregnancy will be focused on eating enough to keep your baby at a healthy weight.
