It is the result of the key demands made by the environmentalists to the government. Environmental activist group, protest for the recent weeks in the name Extinction rebellion. Welsh and Swedish governments have already declared a climate emergency. Many cities like London and Bristol have also declared their emergency.

There is no clear definition for the climate emergency. However, the UK is committed to reducing 80%of its emission by 2050. Extinction rebellion is a socio-political movement that uses nonviolent methods to protest against environmental pollution, climate breakdown, environment loss, and ecological collapse. It was started in 2018 to call for signing a petition to save the environment.

In the year 2016, the United Nation; Paris Agreement was signed. Its goal is to prevent global temperatures from reaching 2 degree Celsius. A report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has suggested that meeting this target means annual global carbon emissions must effectively halve between now and 2030, and then fall to zero by 2050.
