The month of October records the dullest openings of all-time as there are no special festivals and holidays in the season, no big brand releases take place in this month. After a long time, the superhero film got a good opening this year respected to its budget and a new franchise. The Tom Hardy starrer Venom took the top opening weekend spot for October beating the previous best by miles of difference.

Space drama Gravity was the previous record holder for the month which released in the year and collected $55.7 on its opening weekend followed by Matt Damon starrer The Martian, another Sci-fi space film. Now the superhero film broke the record of top Sci-fi openings to set an unbeatable record of the month with $80 million.

Another recent film of this weekend, Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born took the 9th spot in the all-time October openings as the Cooper’s debut directorial and Lady Gaga’s fanbase gave a boost to the film opening.
