Dr. Andrew Adesman, chief of developmental & behavioral pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center, New York states that the study has confirmed that the youngest children within a grade are more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than are the other oldest children in that same grade.
Adesman, said this study suggests that parents of kids who are young for their grade who have ADHD symptoms wanted to repeat a grade, as it will give a child time to maturity and a better behavior in future. The findings were published Nov. 28 in the New England Journal of Medicine. Various other issues such as overcrowding, family problem, friendship problem, grasping power may also influence ADHD.
Adolescent boys and girls also develop ADHD symptoms. They refuse to ask for any help which they need and cannot mingle easily with their friends. They also have low frustration tolerance. Adult ADHD symptoms may include prioritizing their tasks, poor time management, problem in multitasking works, excessive activity in their daily works, and disorganizing their schedule. People with ADHD focus well on the tasks that are interesting to them and get highly frustrated on the tasks they are not interested.
