If the secretion of the tear is too less, it results in eye irritation and in chronic conditions affects the eye functioning. Looking at the computer screen or smartphone without blinking the eyes for a long period of time will result in dry eyes. Even when you watch a movie or read books, concentrate on your blinking frequency. The sensation of some particles in the eyes is a symptom of dry eyes. Before going out in sunlight, apply some coconut oil or olive oil, as this reduces the water evaporation from the eyes and keep them moist.
Normal steaming may also help to get rid of the excess dryness. Apply few drops of castor oil, vitamin E oil, rubbed nicely in the palm of your hand to make it little warm and then apply on the eyelid and under your eyes at bedtime as this will clear the wrinkles, and remove the dark circles around the eyes, also prevent water evaporation from the eyes.
Also intake of fresh fruits such as sweet lime, watermelon, muskmelon, lemon, papaya, vegetables like carrot, pumpkin, walnuts and flax seeds aids in the natural secretion of tears. Apply cucumber slices or rose water dipped in cotton over the eyes in the hot afternoons to keep it cool and healthy.
